⚠️ If You've Been Arrested or Are Under Investigation

  • You have the right to remain silent. Use it. Anything you say can and will be used against you — even if you think you're explaining your side.
  • You have the right to a lawyer. Ask for one. Don't answer questions without one present.
  • Don't sign anything without legal advice — not a confession, not a waiver, not "just a quick statement."
  • Be polite but firm. You don't have to be confrontational. Just say: "I want to speak to a lawyer before answering any questions."

What I Handle

Whether it's a first-time DUI, a misdemeanor charge, or something more serious — you deserve a lawyer who will study every detail of your case and build the strongest defense possible.

  • DUI — first offense through multiple DUIs, including license reinstatement
  • Misdemeanors — retail theft, battery, disorderly conduct, trespassing
  • Felonies — aggravated charges, repeat offenses, serious allegations
  • Drug offenses — possession, manufacturing, delivery
  • Domestic battery & assault — including orders of protection
  • Weapon charges — unlawful use, possession, FOID issues
  • Theft & property crimes — burglary, criminal damage
  • Probation violations — defending against violations and seeking modifications

Will My Case Go to Trial?

Most criminal cases are resolved before trial through negotiations and legal proceedings. But I prepare every case as though it will go to trial — because that level of preparation produces better outcomes at every stage. If trial is the right move for your defense, I'm fully prepared to take your case before a judge or jury.

Questions I Get Asked

No. This is the most common mistake people make. They think if they just explain their side, everything will be fine. But officers are trained to get statements, and anything you say — even if you think it helps — can be twisted or taken out of context. The safest thing you can do is say nothing and call a lawyer.

Misdemeanors carry up to one year in county jail. Felonies can mean prison time exceeding one year — and felony convictions carry long-term consequences: difficulty finding employment, loss of certain civil rights, and a permanent record that can't be expunged. The stakes are much higher with a felony.

Depending on the evidence and your circumstances, charges can sometimes be reduced or dismissed. I review all available evidence, look for weaknesses in the prosecution's case, and fight for the best possible outcome. I'll give you an honest assessment of what's realistically achievable — no false promises.

It depends on the complexity of the case and the amount of work involved. I'll be upfront about fees during your consultation so you can make an informed decision. No hidden fees, no surprises.

"I was in and out of court constantly. The attorney I had was trying everything but I felt more could have been done. I found Chris and he helped me out more than I could have asked for. He is a go-getter and very knowledgeable."
